2nd KL Bike Week - Love Ride No War!

The 2nd Kuala Lumpur Bike Week 2010 ended last weekend with excellent event and the best bike week event been organized so far in Malaysia. Congratulation to Eddie CMC and his RED GARAGE Team for all the dedication, hard work and motivation in making the event this year a BIG success & memorable one!

Congratulation too, to all bikers that have joined & came all over from Malaysia, East Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand. For 2 days, i've seen many happy faces, many hugs & shake hands between bikers, many old friends meet up with each others, many MCs rise besides current MCs that we have, many people making more friendship align to the Bike Week theme - Love RIDE No War.

Harley Kids - Ride with the HEROES | 18th Dec 2010 |

Allhamdullilah, praise to GOD that finally the Harley Kids - Ride with the HEROES event went great after few weeks of planning & work hard. I'm glad that turn up was excellent as almost 200 people signed up inclusive of the riders + Harley owner's kids and their family members. Not to forget few members from the media as such Utusan, NST, WTR Magazine came to join this program too.

Registration

 I had an idea of doing this for quite some times back hence only this year i managed to make it happen. I didnt really sleep that night before this event, worried about the weather as it was raining the whole Friday night. Luckly, while drafting my Director speech in the early morning, rain finally stopped at 4.50am. Finish all registration stuff & the speech, i took a short nap at 6.15am, befor Azu wake me up at 6.30 for a prayer before we both get ready to the dealership for that morning event.

 I arrived at 7.15am at HDKL and few members were already there. Anum, Nawi & family, Ghufran, Azizah & their kids, Agnes with her son too was there, Shaz with her sweet daughter were there too and later TJ turn up with his special Firemen helmet.

As we were busy setting up the registration counter, more members arrived with their kids. Glad to see all of them and the kids minggle arround besides making friends with each others. This is one of the objectives, with riders meet among them, the kids makin more friends and not being left at home.

It's a FAMILY affair...!!

 By 8.50am, we called everyone for a group photo. There was suppose a welcoming ceremony for the new harley owners, however due to time & tight schedule we have to changed the plan. Choo our Director made a short speech to welcome the riders & family members, i did some explanaition on the itnerary and Zain the Captain brief all on the ride plan. Once all the kids on the busses and riders ready with the bike, we off to Putrajaya via MEX highway.

The 30 minutes journey to Putrajaya was the memorable one as from front i could see line of Harley-Davidson bikes with most riders in red t-shirt. We had a good ride off corse with some assistance from the marshal. We reached at Putrajaya square to take a group photo infront of the Prime Minister office. Few tourist from China came a take photo with us too.

 Later accompanied by 3 BOMBA Malaysia officers, we rode to their station and when we reached at the station more firefighters were there to welcome the group.

The program started at Putrajaya Fire Station with a short briefing by the BOMBA Putrajaya Chief, Tuan Azmel. Later it was continue by the demonstarton of firefighters response to the emergency call. Basically, we could see how fast the firefighter prepared when they were called to attend to the emergency situation.

The program continued with more activities as for the kids below 7 yrs old, most of their time were occupied by coloring the firefighter drawing, while elder kids were busy with riding the fire engine & shooting target with water canon. As for the riders & others, they were given the opportunity to try the skylift, hose marching and fire fighting with the extinguisher.

There were so many activities we did during the program and overall, i can see most of the kids and the adults enjoy the day. Luch was great too and to conclude the day, there was a short closing ceremony and speech by HOG and BOMBA besides exchange of momentoes between both sides. BOMBA did prepared some prizes too and most of the kids received good goodies and prizes to bring home.

 At the end of the program, we took a group photo with all the firefighters and before leaving the firestation once again we say thak you to all the members for their warm welcome & great event!

Overview - HARLEY KIDS: Ride with the HEROES

Overview - HARLEY KIDS: Ride with The HEROES

This is a ride event organized by HOG Malaysia in collaboration with Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian Fire Department (BOMBA) especially for our little Harley Kids; to create an awareness, and appreciation to our local fire-fighting heroes.

Aside from this, the event will bring families closer and provide an avenue for families to do something exciting together. Kids will be given a chance to get-to-know and experience what it is like to be a fireman A convoy of Harley-Davidson bikes will deploy from HDKL HQ in PJ and make their way to converge with the BOMBA Convoy (made up of bikes and fire-trucks) and the entire convoy will be parading into the Putrajaya fire station in one massive joint convoy.

This would be a sight to behold as new Harley-Davidson owners, existing HOGs members, families & children, the Jabatan Bomba Dan Penyelamat Malaysia as well as the invited press members, will ‘combine forces’ and  ‘ride’ as one hence the theme ‘Ride with the Heroes’. Road users will be awed by our awesome convoy and they will bear witness to the unmistakable rumble and roar from the renowned Harley-Davidson V-Twin engines as they eat up the miles and make their way to Putrajaya.

There will be special activities lined up at the Balai Bomba Putrajaya like fire-fighting demonstration and kids will also get a chance to ride a fire-truck, and be one step closer to the our Malaysian fire-fighting heroes.

As for us at Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur and HOG Malaysia, we believe that passion is a flame that burns hotter and cannot be extinguished. As for other fires, we shall ride, rev & roll and show the Malaysian Fire Department (BOMBA) that we appreciate their heroics and their dedication to their job and ultimately to save lives and property from all other types fires. - Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur

What I did last weekend.......? #3

This post should have been up earlier. However due to my bz daily job schedule + a lil bit lazyness.... hence i only managed to post the latest entry today.

Last Weekend was 4 & 5 December - 

Johor Bahru International Bike Meet

This ride was quite a last minute plan. Since most of my HOG Malaysia Chapter members were on a Cruise, sailing & enjoying the sea, i've decided to pay shot trip down south to Johor bahru with my SeDARAH MC Brothers for a Johor Bahru International Bike Meet.

We left late morning last Saturday and through out the 450km trip down south, raining were pouring all the way with us. Not much time spending taking photos during the ride as i had to hide behide the wind screen due to heavy.We stopped once at Air Keroh R&R for refueling before another stop at Air Hitam Toll house to meet my mom... :-)

Spending a short 10 minutes over a cig, just to say Hi to mom and had a warm hug from her, we decided to continue straight to JB without stopping anywhere else.

 Arrived in JB event site at noon and upon arrival we didn't see many bikes at the event site. Tho the name was "BIG" as International event however, way much smaller compared to Phuket Bike Week. I would suggest to the organized as for future program, more "selling" need to be done before they even think in making it as a International event. So we spent around 15 minutes goin around the exhibition booths before heading to our hotel to check in.

Later that evening we spent times at the city, did some shopping before back to hotel & resting. The nite came early that nite as by 10 we were already sleepin.

 On the next morning, by 10am we were already on the bike heading back to Kuala Lumpur. Weather was good and we took that opportunity to ride fast. Covering JB to Air Keroh within 1 hour and after a short break at Air Keroh we continue our journey back to Dengkil. It was a fast ride as we covered Air Keroh to Dengkil in 45 minutes. As we pass by NKVE highway, i break from the group at USJ interchange towards home.

Last weekend was a great riding time i spent with my SeDARAH Brothers and look forward this coming 18th of December for the Harley Kids - Ride witrh the HEROES program!! See you soon.....!!

Kuala Lumpur Bike Week......is comin back BIG in 2010..!!

3rd KL Bike Week, perhaps the organizer need to update their poster :-)

Kuala Lumpur Bike Week is comin back to the city end of this month on 24 & 25 December 2010. This will be the 3rd times of KL Bike Week since 2008 and the event will be organized back to its original place - MATIC, Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur after last year event which was held at Mount Kiara.

Entrance is FREE but for those who interested to get the Bike Week goodies, event t-shirt, pin, dinner, MYChopper magazine (5 issues) you may register & buy the Bike Week ticket for RM60.00.

What i did last weekend....? #2

Beaches, Mud, Mangroves, Food & John Denver......

Bagan Lalang Beach

Last week was a busy week for me… apart from the daily job, me & my team were busy preparing and organizing the CSR event for our company at the Bagan Lalang beach for the Mangroves Restoration Project. Roughly about 450 staff from Standard Chartered & Scope International participated in the event as we planted about 2000 mangroves trees at the beach last weekend.

I’ve been traveling up & down from office & the event site since last week to ensure all the coordination and arrangement of the logistic for the event being taken care. On the event day it self, me & team were busy preparing & cooking the food for our colleagues started from morning till late evening.

Tho that this event is more to the company event, I managed to ride twice to the site and enjoy the country road with my Ultra. Once a while during the ride….. I could hear myself singing the song – Take Me Home, Country Road by John Denver J

Latest Harley-Davidson Motorclothes collection has arrived in HDKL..!!

 Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur (HDKL) held a small party last nite at KLCC Butique to introduce the latest collection of Fall / Winter Motorclothes. Despite the early rain in KL in the early evening, quite numbers of Harley Owners turn up to the function and had the first hand opportunity to overview the latest collection. 

Besides the new riding jackets, shirt, chaps & accessories for men & ladies, i'm quite attracted at the children clothing collection that HDKL have in the butique.

I remember that few years back, it was not easy for us to get the children to wear the Harley brand clothing. And you have to travel far till Singapore or Indonesia to get it. However, even that was not a good choice as those we bought in Singapore may not the latest or new as our friends in Singapore have bought it all before we reach the causeway :-)

Now, with all that i need for the kids are display and available in HDKL... only that i just need my "kid/s" to be present first before i decided which is which for them :-)
